Things I own and use.
Hand-forged in Sweden. The #1 backpacking axe. One word: versatile. Small and light enough for a pack, but it’ll fell a tree and still handle fine detail work. If you only own one axe, make it this one.
Get it on AmazonI own one and use it. Same basic design since the 1940s, six-inch blade, leather sheath. American classic sheath knife.
Get it on AmazonI've had my Spyderco Endura folding knives for about 20 years, and I own three of them. I love them. Lightweight, not bulky in the pocket, and they cut! They're sturdy precision tools. They feel like quality in the hand, and they're visually satisfying. The Endura comes in three versions: plain edge, half serrated, and fully serrated.
Get it on AmazonI've been playing Arachnid boards for years, and the Cricket Pro line is the real deal. Genuine Arachnid, up to 8 players, 40 games. Makes a great gift.
Get it on AmazonThe classic grill of all time. These grills make your food taste great. Affordable and excellent. Hard to beat this grill at any price. No malarkey, it's rugged and will last forever. Just change the grates from time to time and clean it out thoroughly.
Get it on AmazonI cook in mine almost every day. Made in the USA, gets better the more you use it, and will outlive all of us.
Get it on AmazonI own the stainless one. Tap water in the top, gravity does the rest. No power, no plumbing. A pair of Black Berkey elements is rated for 6,000 gallons.
Get it at The BerkeyIt’s a small pocketknife, comfortable enough you forget it’s there. Not a survival knife, but capable.
Get it on AmazonThe top of the line when it comes to tumblers. It keeps coffee hot and cold brew cold, fits your cup holder, and doesn't sweat. Built to last for years.
Get it on AmazonIt's not a set of binoculars. It's a monocular, and a very nice one. It's 10x, waterproof, fogproof, and fits in a jacket pocket, backed by Vortex's lifetime warranty. Great for hunting, fishing, or checking out what's in the back field.
Get it on AmazonI own one. It’s fun. It’s accurate. It’s good looking. It’s light. Shoots BBs or .177 pellets. That’s the whole review.
Get it on AmazonThe classic American flashlight. A light cannon that feels like a proper flashlight. Runs on D cells, and with the LED bulb you almost never have to change batteries.
Get it on AmazonFor the best coffee, go pour-over. Maybe not the fanciest one out there, but it makes a great cup. Porcelain, not plastic. Paper filter, hot water, done.
Get it on AmazonWild-caught Moroccan sardines in olive oil, with a little spice. High in taste, protein, and omegas. I've bought a lot of these off Amazon, and they're really great tasting. For the money, I'll take these. I like mine on a saltine with a dash of hot sauce.
Get it on AmazonBright, tough, and 1,500 lumens. Pops off the strap to become a magnetic flashlight, twist-focus from flood to spot, charges by USB-C.
Get it on AmazonA step up from the Go 5. A bigger Bluetooth speaker with a rich sound, plenty of volume and bass, and a battery that lasts a lot longer. Highest quality materials and build.
Get it on AmazonIt's a great speaker, lightweight and easy to carry. Sounds bigger than it is. Packs a healthy punch.
Get it on AmazonThis small portable AM/FM/shortwave radio is on another level. It uses an automotive-grade DSP chip for superior tuning, so the quality is on par with much more expensive radios. It's built to a premium level of fit and finish. It is fun to DX with. The built-in speaker sounds great.
Get it on AmazonGreat light. Rechargeable, cordless, and adjustable. Once you get it, you'll want another one.
Get it on AmazonIt’s not a full-blown charger, but it’s exactly what you need to keep a battery charged.
Get it on AmazonSoak it, rinse it, done. Takes rust off tools and parts down to bare metal with no scrubbing, no harsh fumes, and you can reuse it.
Get it on AmazonFor sore, aching muscles. Better than a real massage? No. But it's close. It's a roll-on, so it brings real heat and keeps it off your fingers. Your eyes will thank you.
